With One Heart is a nonprofit organization that offers aid to youth through a loving community in a home-like atmosphere. This unique program provides for more than just the physical needs of each child, as it is designed to nurture the whole person. Through specialized mentoring, all residents will have the daily opportunity to participate in group and individual counseling as well as instruction in basic life skills. Our vision, however, is that the greatest lessons learned will be through the love and compassion that is shown to each child. Those involved with With One Heart are committed to ensuring that the youth that come to us develop the necessary tools to live as productive, loving and responsible adults in our society.
With One Heart assesses the individual needs of former foster youth exiting the foster care system. The program provides youth with specialized services in a home-like atmosphere such as educational guidance and planning, financial support, mentoring, career services and individual counseling. It is a 2-4 year program based on individual needs.
Our Goals
- Prevention of homelessness among emancipated foster youth
- Providing basic necessities while nurturing the whole person
- Teaching necessary life skills to become financially self-supporting, responsible, and loving adults
Who We Are
With One Heart was founded in August of 2008, by a group of friends who shared a common interest in wanting to help our youth and get them off the streets. Our board consists of the following:
